S.E.A. Expedition

This summer I was extremely fortunate to participate in a SEA Expedition (Sea Education Association (SEA) is an internationally recognized leader in undergraduate ocean education).

Fifteen mates, twelve scientitsts, and  I left Woods Hole, Massachusetts aboard the Corwith Cramer, a beautiful 150foot sea research vessel. Aboard this tall ship we conducted oceanographic research, learned to sail and the complexities of creating and managing marine sanctuaries, and developed leadership and teamwork skills. We sailed about 300 miles off shore and crossed waters rich in marine life including the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, where we saw dozens of whales-it was magical!

I know this experience will help me navigate through life for a long, logn time. In fact, I have kept in touch with my new family of shipmates and we hope to reunite during a semester at sea while in college.

I highly recommend SEA for a fabulous discovery voyage of the hidden tresures of our beautiful blue word, that will bring you back to the seas and continue to rock your world long after you have set foot on

land!
