What an honor to attend the award ceremony in Madrid recognizing Mrs and Mr Chris and Doug Tompkins’ work in preserving pristine land in Chile, Argentina, and Spain. For years I have heard how special and beautiful Patagonia is from my mom and her friend who both worked there to help create parks. After watching the documentary  180 Degree South, recounting Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins’ adventures in Patagonia in the 60’s,  I have been wanting to visit Patagonia to climb and ski the Mountains and to drink straight from the rivers. Now, I am even more eager to go and help expand the parks.

If all wealthy people were like Doug and Kris, our planet would have a much brighter future!
